Student Life

Life at Shrewsbury Phnom Penh extends far beyond the classroom. Students thrive in an environment that values connection, wellbeing, creativity, and service. Every day offers opportunities to grow in confidence, character, and curiosity, guided by our Floreat ethos and the Salopian virtues that shape all Shrewsbury schools.

Wellbeing and Pastoral Care

Every student is known, valued, and supported. Through our House and Tutor system, students build meaningful relationships across age groups and receive daily care from staff who understand their individual needs. Our Wellbeing Team provides additional guidance, while assemblies, mentoring, and leadership opportunities encourage empathy and resilience. Flourish together: happy, healthy students make engaged learners.

The House System

The Houses are at the heart of school life, fostering friendship, teamwork, and school spirit from Early Years to Sixth Form. Students join one of four Houses: Darwin, Sidney, Tuke, or Palin, each reflecting a quality we celebrate: discovery, courage, service, and creativity. Regular competitions in sport, performance, and service nurture pride, belonging, and leadership.

Co-Curricular Life

Shrewsbury Phnom Penh offers a rich co-curricular programme that encourages every student to discover new talents and pursue personal excellence. Activities run daily from 3.00–4.00 pm and evolve each term to include:

  • Sports and athletics

  • Music, drama, and dance ensembles

  • STEM and design clubs

  • Creative arts, languages, and service learning

  • Environmental action and leadership initiatives

Participation is encouraged at all stages, from early exploration to developing mastery.
