Key Stage 3 & 4

Building confidence, curiosity, and character

The Secondary journey begins in Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9) and continues through Key Stage 4 (Years 10–11). These years are about discovery, growing independence, and preparation for the challenges ahead. Students are encouraged to explore widely, think critically, and develop a love of learning that will stay with them for life.

Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9)

Strong foundations for future success

Key Stage 3 offers a broad and balanced curriculum that nurtures the whole person. Students study English, mathematics, science, humanities, languages, and the creative arts, supported by a strong programme of physical education and personal development.

Learning Support and Wellbeing

Every learner is known and supported

Small class sizes allow teachers to tailor lessons to individual needs. English as an Additional Language (EAL) provision helps students build fluency and confidence, while the Tutor system ensures ongoing pastoral guidance.

Co-Curricular Life

Learning beyond the classroom

Co-curricular life is integral to the Shrewsbury experience. Every student takes part in After-School Activities, Senior Societies, and community projects that broaden their horizons and build leadership skills.

Character and Community

The House and Tutor systems foster belonging and care. Daily Tutor sessions encourage reflection, goal-setting, and discussion about wellbeing and life skills. Vertical House communities bring students of different ages together, promoting mentorship and unity.
